Floppy Chicken was created to fulfill a need to publish art books with lavish offset litho printing at sensible costs. The direct approach delivers excellent returns for the artists. This process was not easy in late 2010, the big art publishing houses held all the cards. Damien Lovegrove, the Floppy Chicken founder decided to restructure the system. He made the necessary investment to get the ball rolling. He hired the right staff and the rest is history. Floppy Chicken was set up in February 2011 not just to retail art books but to retail the art itself.
What’s in a name?
The name Floppy Chicken came in a Tweet from Australian photographer Michael Houlden. He asked Damien if his camera went all floppy chicken on him when he released the lock on his ball head while using a monopod. Damien loved the phrase so much he bought the domain.

We have Luke Knight, a great book designer and illustrator. We have a fab web design team in Angel SEO and the project is coordinated by the founder, Damien Lovegrove.
